Weekly Grant Round-Up
The New Jersey Office of Highway Traffic Safety Pedestrian Safety, Enforcement and Education Fund Grant program provides support for municipalities to encourage pedestrian safety. Funding priority is given to municipalities taking remedial steps for intersections that have been identified by the Department of Transportation as demonstrating pedestrian safety problems.
Grant funds may be used for the following initiatives:
• Designing and engineering traffic signs.
• Purchasing and installation of traffic signs.
• Educational training materials or media campaigns for pedestrian safety.
• Compensation for law enforcement officers or authorized crossing guards assigned to an intersection, crosswalk, or other roadway.
$250,000 has been made available for this program. Applications due April 30, 2025. Interested applicants may learn more here.

The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General State and Community Highway Safety Grant funds highway traffic safety projects that identify a local highway traffic safety problem, to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage resulting from traffic crashes. Proposals must address the following federal priority areas:
• Alcohol and other drug countermeasures.
• Police traffic services.
• Traffic records.
• Motorcycle.
• Speed control.
• Pedestrian/Bicycle safety.
• Roadway safety.
• Occupant protection.
• Emergency medical services.
Approximately $20,000,000 will be available on a statewide basis for fiscal year 2026.
Applications are due on April 30, 2025.

The William G. Pomeroy Foundation Transportation Marker Grant Program provides funding for the installation of historic markers at transportation sites. This includes canals, bridges, tunnels, railroads, and aircraft (such as hangers). These markers should commemorate any historical event before or during 1945 to which it was a host of. While this grant covers the cost of the marker, pole, and shipping, the grantee must cover any expenses for its installation.
Please note that a letter of intent must first be submitted to verify the primary sources used. For this cycle, the application will be available from March 14, 2025 through May 16, 2025.

Caring - support for evidence-based programs to improve overall health in the areas of obesity and behavioral health.
Connecting - support for evidence-based programs that connect individuals to information and resources to reduce health disparities, improve health equity and address social determinants of health.
Creating - support for arts organizations that deliver innovative arts and health programming.
Under these grant pillars, funding ranges from $10,000 to $50,000. Grant applications open February 6, 2025 and will be available on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Letters of Intent are due ahead of time with invitations extended to select applicants.
