Governor Murphy's Proposed New Jersey Fiscal Year 2026 Budget: New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy delivered his budget address on Tuesday, outlining the state's $58.05 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The budget includes $1.65 billion in municipal aid, a $20 million increase from FY2025. While the status of the expected $27.9 billion in federal funding to NJ is uncertain, Governor Murphy indicated that New Jersey may "need to pursue a “break the glass” strategy" if obligated funds are not recieved. The new Federal Budget will be finalized in March.

CSX Pride in Service Grants: CSX awards grants of up to $25,000 to US and Canadian non-profit organizations, government entities, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and schools in CSX's service area (includes NJ) for programs that support local active members of the U.S. military, military veterans, first responders, and their families. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The following are focus areas for the grant:

  • Safety

  • Mental, Social, and Emotional Health

  • Bridging Community Divides

  • Workforce Development

  • Financial Assistance & Food Insecurity

Speedway Children's Charities Dover Grant Program: Nonprofit charities whose primary focus is children in Delaware and the mid-Atlantic region are eligible for this opportunity. Priority consideration will be given to organizations helping the homeless, orphan and foster population, and victims of sex trafficking. Focus areas include:

  • Critical: victims of sex trafficking, homeless, orphans, foster population, food security

  • Medical: illness, dental, disability, therapy

  • Educational: tutoring, literacy, after school programs

Applications are due September 15, 2025, and those chosen for round 2 will be notified in October. Speedway Children's Charities has not specified the maximum award amount.

Awards typically range from $25,000 to $100,000. Applications are accepted at any time and reviewed on a rolling basis.
