Weekly Grant Round-Up

The New Jersey American Water Volunteer Fire & EMS Grant Program provides financial assistance to fire and emergency organizations to cover the costs associated with purchasing personal protective gear; communications equipment; firefighting and emergency responder tools; water handling equipment; training and related activities; and materials used to support community fire protection.

Only uniformed volunteer fire departments and EMS operating in New Jersey American Water’s service territory are eligible to receive funding. Regional or county-wide applications are encouraged to maximize the number of fire and emergency organizations that would benefit from the grants. The maximum award amount is $2,500. Applications are due April 14, 2025.

The purpose of the Recycling Partnership Multifamily Recycling Grant Program is to implement and expand access to recycling services at multifamily properties across the United States. This program provides financial, educational, and technical assistance. Local governments, recycling haulers, and multifamily property owners/managers can apply for grant funding to support the acquisition of recycling equipment, infrastructure, or outreach at apartment complexes. The Partnership seeks to expand equitable access to recycling service, increase recycling tonnage, and improve the quality of recycled commodities at multifamily properties.

There is no defined funding or required matching amount. Awards are based on the scale of the proposed project, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

The Planting Trees Today For a Healthy Tomorrow Program from the Plant Tomorrow Foundation is open to nonprofit and government organizations that have a specific reforestation and urban planting project and would like the Plant Tomorrow Foundation to cover the costs of trees. Applicants must include the number of trees they are requesting and submit photos of the specific project area. Applications are accepted at any time.
