Weekly Grant Round-Up
The William G. Pomeroy Foundation offers two grants for historical roadside markers. Awards provide the marker and do not include additional financial support.
Hungry for History: Celebrates America’s food history by telling the stories of local and regional food specialties across the United States. This program is designed to commemorate significant food dishes created before 1970 and the role they played in defining American culture and forging community identity. Deadline to submit Letter of Intent (LOI) to verify primary sources for this year's Round 1 is April 11, 2025. The final application is due May 16, 2025 for Round 1.
Hometown Heritage: Commemorates people, places, things or events that are historically significant. This is a nationwide program aimed at projects that may not meet their state historic marker requirements. Hometown Heritage helps communities to commemorate and preserve important historic milestones from before 1925. May 5, 2025 is the deadline to submit Letter of Intent (LOI) to verify primary sources for this year's Round 1. The full application is due on June 9, 2025.

The National Fitness Campaign has partnered with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield in New Jersey on a mission to increase physical activity and accessibility by building a free-to-use outdoor Fitness Court across the nation for municipalities and schools. These outdoor fitness courts also act as a piece of community art, where each gym is uniquely designed for the school or the community. Currently, there are National Fitness Campaign Fitness Courts in 6 out of 21 New Jersey Counties.
Applicants can apply any time to receive $30,000-$50,000 towards building a Fitness Court. Awardees are required to provide or fundraise the remaining project costs of $150,000.

Basic needs
Education (with an emphasis on social justice/equity initiatives)
The Environment (with an emphasis on clean water)
Zurn Elkay and the Zurn Foundation made $1.3M in total contributions in 2024 through grants, matching gifts, and scholarships. This application opportunity has two deadlines each year: May 1 and November 1.
