US Congress Eliminates FY25 Earmark Funding
While The Aubrey Group has been preparing FY26 Congressionally Directed Spending Requests, both houses of Congress passed a continuing resolution (C.R.) to keep the government funded through September. The C.R. cuts all earmarked funding from the spending bill, which amounted to nearly $15.8 billion. This means that previously selected projects from last year will lose their funding.
US Senate and Congressional Offices are still accepting requests for FY26. The Aubrey Group suggests moving forward with requests as usual. Some Republican members who serve as the majority party expressed their disappointment with the CR and their goal to ensure CDS is included next fiscal year.
The Aubrey Group will continue to monitor this situation and provide more updates as necessary. It is better to be overly prepared in situations of uncertainty.
