Weekly Grant Round-Up

AmeriCorp's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) allows communities to apply for funding to engage adults ages 55 and older in volunteer opportunities that tackle the community’s most pressing needs.

Funding Priorities include supporting older adults and their caregivers, helping older adults re-enter the workforce, preventing and mitigating fraud and scams, reducing the number of people who are unhoused, supporting local climate change initiatives, and supporting behavioral health initiatives.

The total funding is $10,675,000, and awards are up to $425,000. This is a three-year program with a scaling match requirement. Applications are due by September 18, 2024.

The Center for Regenerative Solutions (CRS) and Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN), through USDA Forest Service IRA Funding, have opened applications for capacity building and workforce development grants for communities to accelerate urban forestry through the launch and management of Community Forest Corps and Fellowship programs:

Community Forest Corps sustains tree canopy in climate-vulnerable communities by empowering and employing youth to simultaneously provide community-based tree care and protection while also gathering critical urban heat data essential to developing urban forestry-based cooling strategies.

Urban Forestry Equity Fellowship Program places individuals from diverse backgrounds in jurisdictions that have demonstrated suitable progress toward implementing urban forestry initiatives and are committed to collecting urban heat data and enhancing tree care and maintenance through Community Forest Corps.

Both programs have new deadlines of August 23, 2024.

The National Endowment for the Humanities' Public Impact Projects grants seek to assist you in meeting your community’s needs by expanding the scope, reach, and excellence of your public programs. These awards support a variety of activities that focus on enriching interpretive strategies, strengthening interpretive skill sets or enhancing community engagement with public-facing programs.

This program aims to meet small and mid-sized local municipalities and eligible nonprofits where you are by supporting projects that are appropriate in scope and content to each organization’s resources and community needs.

This program awards up to $25,000 and is forecasted for June 2025. Start planning an application now.
