The NJ Department of Military & Veteran Affairs provides various grant funding for veterans and veteran nonprofits. Programs include:
The Homeless Veterans Grant Fund awards grants to organizations that assist homeless veterans in this State from funds appropriated to the Department from the Homeless Veterans Grant Fund. Click for more information.
The Fund for the Support of NJ Nonprofit Veterans Organizations distributes grants annually to private nonprofit veteran organizations for programs and services supporting New Jersey veterans. Click for more information.
The New Jersey Yellow Ribbon Fund was established to provide support including, but not limited to, support to defray the costs of food, housing, medical services, and other expenses for Servicemembers and their families affected by deployments. Click for more information.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs grants available:
Specially Adapted Housing for Disabled Veterans provides housing grants for veterans and service members with certain service-connected disabilities to buy or change a home to meet their needs and live more independently. Click for more information.
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-VA Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) is a collaborative program between HUD and VA. It combines HUD housing vouchers with VA supportive services to help veterans who are homeless and their families find and sustain permanent housing. Click for more information.
State Veterans Home Construction Grant Program provides funding to construct, renovate, or repair State-owned and operated nursing homes, domiciliaries, and/or adult day health care facilities. Click for more information.
Specially Adapted Housing Assistive Technology Grant provides grants of up to $200,000 per fiscal year to persons or entities to encourage the development of specially adapted housing assistive technologies. Click for more information.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program awards grants to selected private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives that will assist very low-income Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Eligible applicants must be private non-profit organizations or consumer cooperatives. Click for more information.
Veterans State Nursing Home Care provides financial assistance to States furnishing nursing home care to eligible veterans in State Veterans' Homes which meet the standards prescribed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Click for more information.

U.S. Department of Labor Veteran Grants available:
Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program is a federal program that awards money to non- and for-profit organizations and government agencies that work to prepare and place veterans experiencing homelessness in jobs. Click for more information.
Jobs for Veterans State Grants provides funding to State Workforce Agencies for staff to provide career services to veterans with significant barriers to employment and to assist employers in filling their workforce needs. Click for more information.
Stand Down events assist veterans experiencing homelessness by providing a wide range of employment, social, and health services. VETS awards these noncompetitive grants on a first-come, first-served basis to support one-day or multi-day events at up to $7,000 or $10,000, respectively. The critical services provided at these events are often the catalyst that enables those individuals to reenter the workforce. Click for more information.
