The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering the new Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grants program (Community Change Grants) with the announcement of approximately $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funds.
Funds will go towards environmental and climate justice activities to benefit disadvantaged communities through projects that reduce pollution, increase community climate resilience, and build community capacity to address environmental and climate justice challenges.
These place-based investments will be focused on community-driven initiatives to be responsive to community and stakeholder input. They are designed to deliver on the transformative potential of the IRA for communities most adversely and disproportionately impacted by climate change, legacy pollution, and historical disinvestment.

NJ Department of Law & Public Safety Community Based Violence (CBVI) funding opportunity aims to support non-profit community service providers in the development and implementation of community violence intervention programming for communities impacted by higher-than-average rates of community violence, with a focus on gun violence. Applicants may develop new initiatives or enhance already existing programs.
Two categories of community violence intervention will be funded:
Tertiary prevention and/or tertiary prevention strategies with hybrid services; and
Primary and/or secondary prevention strategies.
Tertiary prevention (or violence intervention) strategies attempt to intervene with those already engaged in violent behavior or at high risk of violence due to past victimization or as a result of retaliation.
Primary prevention strategies typically address risk factors associated with violence in the general population in communities that have high rates of violence.
