Weekly Grant Round-Up
The National Endowment for the Humanities Climate Smart Humanities Organizations program funds planning efforts for protecting cultural, historical, educational, and other assets related to the humanities from the harmful effects of climate change. Applicants can propose projects under the following two tiers:
Mitigation Planning, which focuses on reducing an organization's environmental impact and energy costs.
Adaptation Planning, which prepares for future climate change scenarios to protect an organization's humanities-focused assets.

The National Endowment for the Humanities Media Projects grant program supports the development, production, and distribution of radio programs, podcasts, documentary films, and television programs that engage general audiences with humanities content in creative and appealing ways. This program offers two levels of funding:
Development Projects, which enable film and television producers to collaborate with scholars in developing humanities content, resulting in a finished program script or treatment.
Production Projects, which fund the creation and distribution of radio, podcast, television and documentary film projects.

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is offering a grant for Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities. This funding will assist municipalities and their local programs to commence or expand recreation and leisure services for persons with disabilities, improve the status of persons with disabilities as members of the total society, and provide the least restrictive environment in providing recreation and leisure services for people with disabilities. Awards have a 20% match and range between $5,000 - $20,000, with up to $35,000 available for multi-municipality applications. The deadline to apply is July 26, 2024. Greenspring Advisors' grant program funds nonprofit organizations in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania who focus on workforce development, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy for underrepresented communities. Potential projects include job skills training, job creation, and entrepreneurship training programs. Applicants can receive up to $20,000 in funding, and applications are due July 31, 2024. The New Jersey Department of State has a grant opportunity to support New Jersey nonprofits develop a permanent source of additional funding for arts, history, and humanities organizations. The Trust seeks to help cultural organizations achieve greater financial and operational stability to improve their service to the public. Recorded technical assistance mini-webinars will be posted in July. The total award amount is up to $40,000. Applications are due by August 20, 2024, at noon EST.
