The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Capital Fund grant program provides funds for costs associated with public housing asset improvement to Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) that are either in receivership, designated troubled or substandard, or otherwise high risk. The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is offering a grant for Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities. This funding will assist municipalities and their local programs to commence or expand recreation and leisure services for persons with disabilities, improve the status of persons with disabilities as members of the total society, and provide the least restrictive environment in providing recreation and leisure services for people with disabilities. Awards have a 20% match and range between $5,000 - $20,000, with up to $35,000 available for multi-municipality applications. The deadline to apply is July 26, 2024. The National Endowment for the Arts "Our Town" Grant will fund municipalities and nonprofits to support activities that integrate arts, culture, and design into local efforts that strengthen communities over the long term. Strong projects will include identified local characteristics of a community and aim to demonstrate the specific role of the arts to strengthen the local community. Projects will also promote new programs or deepen existing engagement with a diverse range of local partners. Awards range between $25,000-$150,000. The due date to apply is August 1, 2024. The New Jersey Department of State has a grant opportunity to support New Jersey nonprofits develop a permanent source of additional funding for arts, history, and humanities organizations. The Trust seeks to help cultural organizations achieve greater financial and operational stability to improve their service to the public. Recorded technical assistance mini-webinars will be posted in July. The total award amount is up to $40,000. Applications are due by August 20, 2024, at noon EST.
