Weekly Grant Round-Up
With coastal storm damage, erosion, and shoreline migration impacting the coastline every year, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP) Shore Protection program provides municipalities and counties with the tools to once again Restore the Shore. Eligible projects include but are not limited to monitoring studies and land acquisition, beach replenishment, and construction and maintenance of bulkheads, jetties and seawalls.
Awards are given on a rolling basis, and $25,000,000 set aside annually for the Shore Protection Fund.

The leaves are changing color, pumpkin spice lattes are being served, and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP) Green Acres Program has returned! Applications for land acquisition, park development, stewardship, Jake’s Law (Completely Inclusive Playgrounds), and Urban Parks projects are open and the deadline to submit is February 5, 2025. Supplemental funding requests for active projects are also due on February 5, 2025.
It has been announced that all approved loans will now carry a 0% interest rate. Acquisition loans are repayable over 30 years; development loans are repayable over 20 years.

The Community Foundation of New Jersey's Schumann Fund will be enhancing classroom learning with real-life experiences by providing funding for school trips to arts and culture, historical landmarks, nature preserves, science institutions, and college campuses.
This opportunity is open on a rolling basis in amounts up to $1500; all Essex County public, charter and nonprofit private pre-K-12 schools where 65% or more students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches, and nonprofit organizations serving Essex County that are current grantees of the Schumann Fund for New Jersey are eligible to apply.
